Nelson is an internationally recognised riding destination and we offer an epic all-inclusive mountain bike tour here! With close to 500km of single trail with 35,000m of descending, Nelson should be on every mountain biker’s hit list. There is variety, and if you know where to look, there is a mountain bike trail for everyone! Nelson’s notoriously steep and techy which is great for your advanced and expert riders – but there is still a lot there for beginner and intermediate riders. For your best chance to ride the trails that suit your riding style, hiring a guide is highly recommended!
There are more than 10 different riding areas to choose from with forest that is privately owned along with many trails on public land. The trails are largely maintained by the Nelson Mountain Bike Club. Forest PERMITS ARE A REQUIREMENT for some areas and these can be obtained by joining the Nelson Mountain Bike Club.
